American Red Cross Deluxe Student Emergency Pack Plus Food is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from American Red Cross Deluxe Student Emergency Pack This emergency pack has all the essentials one would need in an emergency on a short term basis. I sampled tasted the water and food that was provided in the pack. The water tasted like a nice clean cup of water. No bad taste to it. The food bar, other than being a little dry and crumbly was actually not bad tasting. It had a strong vanilla flavor and no after taste. I could see eating it if in a jam. Next the pack also had a poncho, emergency blanket and hand warmers. A light stick and whistle. A mini first aid kit with the basics such as bandages and triple antibiotic ointment and some cleansing towelettes. It also came with a face mask and hand sanitizer. This would be great for the student or anyone who wanted to be prepared in case of emergency.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, compact kit This first aid kit comes with everything you need and much more. The kit's small size makes it easy to include in your camping bag, without taking up much space. It has what you would need to clean, disinfect, and bandage wounds. In all this should be a basic carry item, just in case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice little emergency kit for a student! I got this kit to place in my son's backpack in the case of an emergency at school. This kit has all of the basics he could need to get him through until I can arrive to pick him up. I couldn't have put this kit together myself for cheaper than it cost. All in all, I'm impressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I got this a month ago for my 18 yr old nephew who just got his drivers license to keep in his car. Thankfully he hasn't had to use it but I'm so glad he has it. The kit has everything he could possibly need if god forbid he had an emergency

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little package I have not used it yet but looks like it will be helpful in most any emergency. It will be going in my car.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compact Emergency Kit This is a great compact emergency kit for short-term needs. The container it comes in is very light and easily stored, and wouldn't take up much room in a backpack. It contains a simple first aid kit, but is not able to handle any trauma beyond minor cuts/scrapes (but not what it was designed for.) The key pieces to this kit are the emergency blanket, hand warmers and water ... in a short-term survival situation, you will want to get/stay warm and stay hydrated first. The food bar is a good addition too, however, 400-calories is more of a moral booster than meal replacement (mine was vanilla flavored and not as terrible as I thought it might be!) The light stick and whistle would be useful if you are stuck where not easily seen and can aid in rescue. After watching disaster highlights on the TV, I can see these kits being very useful for college students in tornado alley. And even though it was designed with students in mind, I could also see it also being useful stored in a car for an emergency (where I have decided to store mine) - such as the time I got stuck in stuck in a snow bank and needed to stay warm/hydrated overnight until I was able to be pulled out. Overall, great little kit that could provide some key assistance in emergency situations, and once used, seems very easy to grab more supplies to refill for the next time.
